Learn How To Cook A Chicken Stir Fry
Chicken Stir Fry
Learning how to cook a stir fry is so useful when moving into your own home. It is simple, affordable, packed of vitamins and easy to change to make it just the way you like. Stir fry is perfect for using up vegetables in your fridge, whilst being a brilliant vitamin booster.
The recipe I have written up is one of my favourite combinations of veg and chicken, but you could use prawns instead chicken or add peppers instead of carrots. I use a bought sauce from blue dragon, I know that sounds lazy because this is a recipe, but I am writing this blog to simplify cooking, not everyone has time to make teriyaki sauce from scratch so I don’t see the harm in buying a ready-made sauce.
If you do try out the recipe, let me know how it goes on my instagram @food.blog.ni or tag me in photos.
Ingredients
- Dry Noodles
- Sticky Teriyaki Sauce
- 2 Carrots
- Sugar-snap peas
- Baby Corn
- 2 Chicken Breast
- Long stem Broccoli
- Soy sauce
- Olive Oil
Method
1. Start by preparing all your veggies. Wash everything first with some cold water, and then peel your carrots and slice them up and I slice the baby corn right down the middle.
Next, on a different chopping board, dice the chicken breast. If you don’t like cutting chicken (I get my boyfriend to do it if I’m honest) you can buy diced chicken breast in the shops but that can cost more.3. Heat up your pan (I use a wok because of how much veg I put in) on a high-medium heat with a tablespoon of olive oil, wait until the pan is really hot and then drop in your chicken bits with a bit of salt and pepper.
4. Fry for 3-4 mins, then throw in all your vegetables. Mix in with your chicken, and then I pour about a tablespoon of soy sauce onto it and bring to a high height.
5. Put a lid on you pan and boil the kettle. In a bowl put your dry noodles with about a teaspoon of olive oil. Then cover in the boiled water, put a plate or cover over the bowl and leave alone.
While the noodles cook, pour in the teriyaki sauce and stir. Taste test the veg to make sure its cooked to your liking, and stir for a few minutes on a medium heat. Be careful not to dry out the sauce, if you do and don’t have any more teriyaki I add more soy sauce.
7. Next drain your noodles and put into the pan and break up the nests. Mix them in well and then when your happy with the texture of the veg, you can serve and enjoy!
